CV yachts is a yacht owning company offering sailing holidays since 2001 in Greece.
2. Where can you rent a boat from?
a. From Alimos Marina in Athens (biggest marina in Greece, perfect for sailing in the calm waters of the Saronic gulf with the opportunity to visit sites in the centre of Athens, approx. 40minutes from Athens International Airport)
b. From Lavrion, south of Athens (picturesque port in the south tip of Athens region, ideal for sailing to the Cyclades as they are very near the island of KEA just 12nm away, approx. 30minutes from Athens International Airport)
3. What kind of yachts do we offer?
CV Yachts offer both sailing yachts and catamarans, both economy and premium, all bareboat and skippered. (Please tell us what kind of boat you are looking for and we will accommodate you)
4. How long can you rent a yacht for?
During high season (July – August – September) we offer our yachts only on a weekly basis. Therefore, you can charter one of our boats for 1 or more weeks. If you wish to charter for fewer days it might still be possible but a payment of a whole week is required. During low season we offer a wider variety on dates that you could choose to begin your trip or the duration of days needed.
5. On Which day does a yacht rental begin?
Our typical charter week is on a Saturday to Saturday basis. Embarkation is usually around 5pm on Saturday afternoon and disembarkation at 9am on Saturday morning. Meanwhile, you are requested to return to the marina by 6pm the day before in order to make sure that everything is ok and you have a good night’s rest before your flight back home.
6. If you are interested in renting a yacht, what do you need to do?
You will need to contact CV Yachts Bookings ([email protected]) and inform us of about the dates that you are interested in, the kind of yacht that interests you, the number of the passengers that will be on board and whether you will be needing a skipper or not?. Once we have all information, you will receive a detailed offer.
7. What do you need to pay in order to rent a yacht?
There is a total amount of the charter fee as provided in the offer sent to you and the cost of the mandatory charter pack.
8. What is included?
In the charter fee:
a. Yacht rental
b. Yacht standard equipment
c. Yacht insurance
d. Full tank of diesel at embarkation
e. Full tank of water at embarkation
f. 12% VAT and all local taxes
In the mandatory charter pack:
a. End cleaning
b. Bed linen
c. Towels (one large and one small per person)
d. Cooking gas bottles
e. Base marina fees (for 1st and last night)
9. What is not included?
a. Marina fees during sailing holiday
b. Refuelling at end of week
c. Provisioning (CV Yachts can offer a provisioning service as extra)
10. Do you need to pay some kind of insurance?
For each yacht you rent you are required to choose between one of the following options in case any damages occur:
a. Refundable deposit (amount varies according to chosen yacht) / The amount is blocked on the card and is returned upon disembarkation.
b. Damage waiver (amount varies according to chosen yacht) / A non-refundable amount is paid in advance, in order to decrease the refundable deposit to a much lower amount.
11. You have sailing experience, can you rent a yacht?
In order to get permission to sail from the Greek port authorities, you will need to have a valid sailing license. If you are not sure that your license is valid please contact us and we will advise you accordingly.
12. Is it possible to have a skipper on board with an extra cost and where will he be accommodated?
In case you do not have a valid skipper’s license, we can recommend a professional skipper for your sailing holiday. Accommodation choices may vary depending on boat’s specifications and a daily rate is required for the duration of your trip.
